The Golden Rule: Check Out & Find the MRT
After passing immigration, follow the signs to the Taoyuan Airport MRT. It connects Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 directly. This is your starting point for almost every destination.
Heading North or East (Taipei, Keelung, Yilan, Hualien)
To reach Taipei City, take the Airport MRT to A1 Taipei Main Station. From there, you can transfer to the Taipei Metro (MRT) to reach hotels in Ximending, Xinyi District, or Shilin.
If you are going to Keelung, Yilan, or Hualien, transfer to the TRA (Train) at Taipei Main Station.
Heading South (Taichung, Tainan, Kaohsiung)
To travel south, take the Airport MRT to A18 Taoyuan HSR Station. From here, you can take the Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) to the following major cities:
- Hsinchu
- Miaoli
- Taichung (Major Hub)
- Changhua
- Yunlin
- Chiayi (Gateway to Alishan)
- Tainan
- Kaohsiung (Zuoying Station)
⚠️ IMPORTANT: HSR tickets are divided into 'Reserved Seat' and 'Non-Reserved Seat'. Make sure you enter the correct car number!
